On the morning of September 18, the International Centre for Creativity and Sustainable Development under the auspices of UNESCO (ICCSD) convened the second seminar on the Phase II Case Collection Plan, themed "Protecting and Promoting the Diversity of Cultural Expressions in the Digital Environment". Experts from multiple fields were invited to provide insights and recommendations for the case collection work and to build professional consensus.
During the meeting, the ICCSD gave a detailed briefing on the background, core objectives and implementation procedures of the second-phase case collection plan. It was clarified that this solicitation aims to identify practical outcomes of how digital technologies enable the protection and development of cultural diversity, and to provide exemplary cases that are both referential and replicable for practices in related fields.

Five experts from the following institutions took part in this seminar, including Institute of Automation Chinese Academy of Sciences; Institute of Creative Industry Technology at Renmin University of China; Beijing Institute of Culture Innovation and Communication at Beijing Normal University; Key Laboratory of Interactive Technology and Experience System, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Zhongguancun Zhongheng Culture Technology Innovation Service Alliance. The participating experts conducted in-depth discussions on key topics including the strategic direction of the case collection, the refinement of evaluation criteria, and international cooperation and outreach, and put forward multi-dimensional recommendations from a professional perspective:
They emphasized that the case collection needs to strengthen overall planning, with a focus on the practical feasibility of the cases and their application value in addressing practical issues in cultural protection. It is necessary to balance the representativeness of cases from different countries and regions, while ensuring the coordinated development of economic and social benefits. Meanwhile, efforts should be made to enhance the international communicative capacity of the cases, highlight the uniqueness and exemplary value of this call for cases in the field of digital culture, and enable high-quality cases to better demonstrate the global significance of safeguarding cultural diversity.
