On October 22, 2025, Prof. Shahbaz Khan, Director of the UNESCO Multisectoral Regional Office for East Asia, paid a visit to the International Center for Creativity and Sustainable Development (ICCSD) under the auspices of UNESCO (Category 2). Prof. Khan visited ICCSD's office and held in-depth discussions with Prof. Hans d'Orville, Former UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Strategic Planning, and Chairman of ICCSD Advisory Committee, as well as Mr. Xiao Lan, Executive Director of ICCSD.

As a special guest expert, Prof. Shahbaz Khan also attended the ICCSD Advisory Committee Meeting, held on the afternoon. In his speech, he highly commended ICCSD's achievements and emphasized that the Meeting's focus on creativity, artificial intelligence (AI), and sustainable development aligns closely with UNESCO's core priorities. Prof. Shahbaz Khan recognized ICCSD's important contributions to advancing these areas. He further noted that AI ethics and development, the implementation of the outcome document of the UNESCO 2025 Mondiacult, and the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are key areas of concern for UNESCO, where ICCSD plays a pivotal role. He also highlighted the central importance of AI within China's national development strategy. Looking to the future cooperation, Prof. Shahbaz Khan emphasized the importance of capacity building and expressed willingness to deepen collaboration with ICCSD and relevant Chinese institutions. He concluded by expressing his hope that, through joint efforts, creativity will continue to drive progress toward sustainable development.
