The seniors at Shenyang Jintaiyang Nursing Home have various hobbies and never feel bored in daily life. They take out musical instruments and are ready to show their talents and skills. They will have great fun at Chongyang Festival with the foreign friends.

拿着做好的荷包，外籍友人和老人们很有成就感，他们表示将把重阳荷包好好收藏起来。
With self-made pouches, foreign friends and the seniors show a great sense of achievement. They will treasure the exquisite handicrafts made all by themselves.

外籍友人对掐褶纸技艺非常感兴趣，他们仔细观看李雪的操作，亲手做出了一个个漂亮的重阳节荷包。
Foreign friends show a great interest in the Paper Folding technique. They learn from Li Xue quickly and make a number of nice Chongyang pouches by themselves.

李雪表示，纸张具有透气性、延展性，所以非常适合制作荷包。荷包里边可以放药材，药香味可透过纸张散发出来。
Li Xue notes that paper sheets featuring air permeability and ductility are suitable for making pouches. Pouches with medicinal herbs in them will bring enjoyable fragrance.

掐褶纸是把纸张掐出疏密相间的褶皱，再用手工制成各种造型的工艺。李氏民间掐褶纸在继承辽南民间掐褶纸风格的基础上逐渐发展完善。
Paper Folding means making delicate folds in paper sheets and turning them into handicrafts of various shapes and styles. Li's Folk Paper Folding has been well developed based on the styles of Folk Paper Folding in Southern Liaoning province.

沈阳市级非遗项目李氏民间掐褶纸第四代传承人李雪教大家制作重阳荷包。
Li Xue, the fourth generation inheritor of Li's Folk Paper Folding, one of Shenyang Municipal Intangible Cultural Heritages, is teaching participants how to make Chongyang pouches.

重阳糕已经送去蒸制。外籍友人和老人们开始体验非遗活动。
Chongyang cakes are being sent to be steamed. Now it's time to take part in various activities related to intangible cultural heritage.

王芳说，为了更加适合老年人食用，今天制作的重阳糕比较松软，也不太甜，但是老年人因为胃肠功能比较弱，不宜多食用。
Wang Fang notes that the Chongyang cakes made today are soft and not that sweet considering the health of the elderly. But seniors usually have a poor digestion and might as well just eat a few.

以前，在重阳节这天人们会制作一种菊花糕，经过不断改良，菊花糕逐渐演变成重阳糕，也称花糕。
In the past, Chinese people would make chrysanthemum cakes on this day. The cakes have, through continuous improvements, turned into Chongyang cakes, also known as "flower cakes".

沈阳市奇新烹饪艺术学校面点专业教研室主任、面点高级讲师王芳现场教大家制作重阳糕。
Wang Fang, Director of Pastry Teaching and Research Department and Senior Pastry Instructor of Shenyang Qixin Culinary Art School, is teaching participants how to make Chongyang cakes.

重阳节有登高祈福、秋游赏菊、拜神祭祖及饮宴祈寿等习俗，传承至今又添加了敬老等内涵。人们在重阳之日感恩敬老，弘扬孝亲敬老文化。
Chinese people will climb mountains, enjoy chrysanthemums, worship gods, and have banquets at Chongyang Festival. Now, the festival has also become a great occasion of showing gratitude and respect to the elderly as well as promoting the culture of filial piety. 

活动现场，主持人“云”连线辽宁大学历史系教授齐伟。齐教授为外籍友人和老年朋友讲述重阳节的文化故事。
At the event, the host has an online talk with Qi Wei, Professor of history at Liaoning University. Professor Qi tells cultural stories of Chongyang Festival to foreign friends and the seniors.

“四海同心、一起过节”之敬老尊贤度重阳活动正式开始。
The activity officially kicks off now.

活动还邀请历史学家、面点高级讲师、非遗传承人为外籍友人和老人们讲述重阳故事，并与大家一起蒸制重阳糕，制作重阳荷包，共同感受中国民俗文化的魅力。
Historians, senior pastry instructors, and inheritors of intangible cultural heritage will tell stories about Chongyang Festival to foreign friends and the elderly. They will together steam Chongyang cakes, make Chongyang pouches together to feel the charm of Chinese folk culture.

重阳节是我国的传统节日，又称老年节，有敬老爱老的含义。重阳节前夕，国际在线辽宁频道邀请5位分别来自巴基斯坦、土库曼斯坦、越南、也门的外籍友人参与“四海同心、一起过节”之敬老尊贤度重阳活动，与沈阳金太阳养老院老人一起欢度重阳节。
Chongyang Festival or Seniors' Day is a great occasion of paying respect to the elders. On the eve of Chongyang Festival, CRI Online Liaoning channel will invite five foreign friends from Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Vietnam and Yemen to join the "Celebrating with Friends All Over the World" Themed Activity. They will spend their time together with the seniors at Shenyang Jintaiyang Nursing Home.
