The "Hello, China - Sunshine Hainan" international film exhibition and Hainan tourism promotion event was held in Paris, France, on March 8 local time.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between China and France.

Through the exhibition of images and physical displays, as well as the screening of promotional videos about Hainan's tourism and culture, the event comprehensively introduced new tourism products, new formats, and a new image of Hainan to the French public.

Over 200 artifacts of traditional Hainan intangible cultural heritage items, such as Li ethnic clothing, Li brocade, coconut carvings, and shell carvings, were showcased, creating a unique atmosphere that blended Chinese and French cultures, tradition, and modernity.

The exhibition also featured aerial photography of the terraced fields in Sanya's Damao village, as well as photography showcasing aquatic sports, wedding tourism, and diving tourism. It displayed the recent achievements in the integration of tourism and sports in Sanya and successfully attracted the attention of many international visitors.

In 2023, Hainan received over 90 million domestic and international tourists, a 49.9 percent increase compared to the previous year. During the 2024 Spring Festival holiday, Hainan welcomed 9.51 million tourists, generating a total tourism revenue of 15.13 billion yuan ($2.1 billion), which set new records.

Recently, Hainan has been actively promoting the arrival of international tourists and developing various distinctive tourism products tailored to international visitors. Hainan has opened 47 international air routes, established 13 yacht marinas, and over 2,300 yacht berths, and it is now possible to travel around the island by high-speed rail in just three hours.
