Main research areas: protection, research and communications of world cultural heritages, particularly international folk art, cultural heritage and creative industry, international folk art and cross-cultural communications, Sino-German culture and arts, and youth education.

In the past decades, she has planned and chaired the “Guizhou International Folk Art Exposition” (2013-2019) and 2017-2020 “Belt & Road” International Forum on Cooperation and Exchanges in Cultural Heritage, and famous large academic trainings such as 2020 “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth Creative Design Talent (Creative 100) Training Plan”,  sub-forum of “Sustainable Development of Cultural Heritage in the New Perspective” under the 2021 Understanding China Conference. She has led the design of Guizhou Gui'an International Folk Art Expo City in Gui’an Guizhou, province, cultural tourism creative product research and development in Zhongxian, Chongqing Province, Qingdao SCO wife ceremony and other local cultural tourism projects.

Honors

Chen Ping won the “Golden Europe” Award of the European Union of Arts for Cultural and Art Promotion (the first Chinese scholar winning the award) in 2016.
